Kids' Camp

VBS 2021 June 21 - 26

VBS is a week long day camp full of music, stories, games and activities.  It's a chance for kids to make friends and learn that Jesus loves them.

Participant Registration is OPEN!

Parent/Guardian
Information

The information we have provided below is based on current State & Southeastern California Conference Guidelines and is subject to change if/when new guidelines become available.  Be sure to check back for updated information.  Thank you for helping us make sure our Volunteers and Kids all have a safe and fun time at VBS2021!

Checking in Day 1

  • Check-in Day 1 will open at 4:45pm.

  • You will be directed to a check-in station where a "ticket agent" will check your kid(s) in.  Pre-register online no later June 5th.  No walk-in registrations.

  • Each registered child will receive their tote bag for the week containing their Crew T-Shirt, bandura/mask, and name tag.  Once they put on their Crew T-Shirt and bandura, a volunteer will take them to their crew area

  • Your bag color is your VBS Crew Color! Kids will remain in their preassigned crews—meeting current safety guidelines.  Please prepare your child to be excited for their team, no changes.

  • Kids can decorate their VBS bag if you’d like. Make sure that First and Last name are on the bag somewhere obvious, in case it gets misplaced. Lots of bags will look similar!  Kids will use these bags to bring their daily supplies (towel, water, etc.). Their leader will have a matching colored bag.

Drop-Off

  • Drop-off opens at 5:00pm

  • Drop-off will be drive-in style.  Watch for signs and follow the directions of the Train Station Safety Team.

  • A "ticket agent" will check your kids in.

  • Once checked in, kids will exit vehicle and VBS volunteers will accompany them to their group.

  • Please wait until they have been checked in before allowing them to safely exit your vehicle.

  • Arrive by 5:25pm, as VBS programming starts promptly at 5:30pm. If you arrive late, pull up to front doors and a VBS Volunteer will direct you.

Pick-Up

  • Pick-up will begin at 8:30pm and also be drive-in style.

  • Display child’s name card (we will provide) in the passenger side window.

  • Your kids will be waiting in their designated Crew area for you and will be brought to you.

What to bring EACH day in your VBS provided bag

  • Beach Towel: This will be your child's 'sit-on spot' so we can properly distance our kids. Please label with child’s name.

  • Water Bottle: Labeled with your child's name.

  • Sunscreen: Please apply sunscreen at home.

  • Prescribed Medication or Epi Pen if required. Our nurse will collect these items on Day 1, store in a secure place each evening, and return unused items at the end of the week.  Please be sure to include this information when you register your child.

  • Wear your crew T-Shirt and bandura!

Food

  • Dinner will not be served this year.  Instead, a snack will be served during the KidVid Cinema rotation.

  • All snacks are individually packaged.

  • We will do our best to avoid common allergens, such as peanuts, in the snacks we provide.

  • If your child has an allergy or dietary concern that would prohibit them from participating safely, please send an alternative snack in their bag and be sure to include this information when you register your child.

COVID Precautions

  • All of VBS will take place outdoors.

  • Social distancing will be practiced and encouraged throughout the campus.

  • Children and staff will sanitize before every station rotation.

  • Check-in volunteers will wear masks or face shields outside. All other volunteers will wear masks or face shields when 6ft of social distancing can not be maintained. Children will wear masks when 6ft of social distancing can not be maintained (3ft within their assigned crew). Extra masks will be available if needed.

  • Volunteers and children will wear masks when going inside to use the restroom.

  • Consider making sure your child(ren) use(s) the restroom before arriving so they won't need to go inside as often.

  • Games will be non-contact and equipment will not be sanitized between uses.

Wellness Policy

At Valley, we strive to provide a healthy environment for all and ask those experiencing symptoms of communicable illnesses refrain from in-person activities.

We provide a designated First Aid area, staffed by a camp nurse to deal with scraped knees and bumps during VBS.  Parents will be notified immediately if their child starts feeling unwell.

Due to COVID19, we can’t emphasize enough the importance of following our wellness policy. If in the last 14 days, you or someone you are bringing, have been told to quarantine, had a fever, or a persistent dry cough or shortness of breath, we ask that you please stay home. We appreciate your care and consideration for others.

If you or one of your children are experiencing any of the below symptoms of communicable illnesses, we ask that you to please keep them at home.

  • Fever (100.4°F or higher) or chills

  • Cough

  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing

  • Fatigue

  • Muscle or body aches

  • Headache

  • New loss of taste or smell

  • Sore throat

  • Congestion or runny nose
